I think your article on the Jose Gaston’s is excellent. The Gaston hacienda was probably 300 yards from Hwy 1. The land was tilled and you could easily see Negros Highway 1. Behind the home north was an orchard of Coconut tree, and a number of small houses where about 100 workers lived. Beyond them was the straits and on the other side the island of Panay.
