Clark Veterans Cemetery is Asia's Arlington, yet was abandoned by the US when it withdrew from the base in 1991 after the Mt Pinatubo eruption.
There is now a Senate Bill, S2320, which would restore this cemetery and its honorable dead to the care of the US Government. The bill that went to Congress was effectively kicked into the long grass - sent to Committee....
An 11 year old boy, Nathaniel Beeler, heard of the injustice and, among other actions, took a 1000 signature petition to Capitol Hill, for delivery to Senators and Congressmen, seeking support for S2320. If the bill reaches the floor and passes, justice would then be done.

do wonderful work but just don't have the resources needed to properly care for this cemetery of some 8,600 graves.
Surely the government has a moral obligation to those who served and their families. It cares for and maintains military cemeteries around the world. It is to the nation's shame that Clark Veterans Cemetery must rely solely on volunteers and private donations.
I have a personal interest. My new-born son Kevin died and was interred at Clark. At the time I could not bring myself to leave 3 young children, including his twin sister Kathryn, to take him home for burial. I felt at peace with this decision because I truly believed that the US Government would always care for its own - wherever in the world they may be. I was bitterly wrong. So I too crusade, on his behalf and that of all the honorable dead interred at Clark Cemetery.

The Senate bill goes for marking up at the end of this month and, if sent to the floor, to the vote next month.
Please, please contact your Senator, asking them to support the passage of S2320 as it is written, without amendment. Another few co-sponsors would almost certainly see this through and all support will help.
