Hey Bob,
One more thing just occurred to me. I have heard that when the last submarine left Corregidor before the surrender there was a complete list of all personnel sent with it. I think the date on that was May 02, but I'm not 100% on that at the moment (I'm away from my library). I do not know where this list is, or if it still exists. The significance of such a list would be that it should include all the guys that evacuated from Bataan to Corregidor. However, it would not be an accurate list of those that actually were alive at the surrender. During the time period between May 02-06 there were many KIA.

I have found the "List of Remaining Personnel on Corregidor" dated April 30, 1942 that was sent out by the submarine USS Sealion on May 2, 1942. As far as I know I have never seen this document before. It was sent to me by the US Army Past COnflict Repatriations Branch (DPMO) in response to attending one of the national Family Member Update sessions that I attended in Portland last November. I had been searching fruitlessly for this list since I first read Mortons' history 10 years ago, where it was mentioned. It is the list that Col. Constance Irwin took out with him. One big caveat however, it does not contain enlisted personnel names, only Officers, US Army Nurses, and Warrant Officers. It's about 40 pgs.
Along with this document, marked "Secret", I was sent two other Lists. Both I have found online before in my searches, but perhaps others on this board would wish to have copies of the original documents. They are:
"Diary (Roster of Officers) at Corregidor at the Time of Surrender of Bataan", dated April 9, 1942, by Col. Roscoe Bonham, Origin: Corregidor
and
"Death Roster, Corregidor and Bilibid" dates: 31 December 1941 to 7 August, 1942. Source: Chaplain Perry O. Wilcox
The documents are all between 40-90 pages long, and I only have a hard copy so far, will have to use my local library to make a scan of them or copies. But I would really like to share, and have the first one up on line somewhere for any future researchers to use. I am aware other rosters of individual units exist (60th CAC, etc.) that were also sent, but this one list is useful for any non-enlisted personnel that escaped from the Bataan surrender (as is Bonhans' list). If anyone wants to PM me or e-mail me for a particular name, I would be happy to respond.
Peter
