Being only recently active here. I have no idea if something I post is old hat or something new. This is a photo from one of the Manila papers sent to me by John Hicks, a researcher of the 803rd Engineers. I have one other of the Corregidor Officers being transported to the same destination in trucks. No need to post it though if you are all well acquainted with this one. Attachments:

Very good photo Bob. I've never seen this one. I would imagine there were lots of photographs taken when the Corregidor guys were paraded down Dewey Boulevard, being that it was a victory march. I would like to see more photo's of this scene. Many of the veterans that I have talked with mention this day because of the reverse effect that this parade had on many Filipinos. The Japanese believed this showed their superiority over the Americans, but many of the Filipinos threw food, cigarettes, and other items to aid the wore-out American men. This enraged the Japanese, and as a result there were civilians beaten, as well as the American POW's. Many of the Filipinos were seen crying at the sight of the POW's, and it had a deep impression on the POW's. An interesting side note: Byron Kearbey, who just recently passed away, turned 18 on the day of this victory parade. What a way to spend your 18th birthday.
Thanks for sharing the photo Bob.

This news photo was new to me and having never seen it before, I assumed it would be new to others as well. Most likely the best approach is to post anything that is new to me, having seen so much over the years.

Good approach.
That was an interesting cutting.
Yet I don't have too much of an issue with some 'familiar' images as we seem to have a number of new folk joining.
