Thanks for the photos on the CDSG site.
My dad was stationed in Panama in '44-'45. He was with the Seabees and drove the heavy equipment.

Hey Army....Very interesting pics of formidable fortifications in their day. They never fired a shot in anger, but still they performed their assigned task by keeping the watch. They were ready and prepared. Same deal at Puget Sound, Frisco other places. I find it interesting that even Fort Sumpter had a couple of seacoast rifles at the outbreak of WW 2. The Coast Artillery was certainly primed for action if a surface attack did materialize. Thanks for posting.

Armyjunk, sorry, I’m late looking at these great pictures. It looks like in Panama they don’t have the same scrapper problem like in the Philippines.
