Thought this was interesting, a 1924 picture of Claudius Miller Easley and his family while assigned to the 31st Inf at Fort McKinley. A General in WWII, he was wounded by a sniper during the Battle of Leyte in 1944, was awarded the Legion of Merit and the Purple Heart. He was killed on Okinawa on 19 June 45 when two Japanese bullets struck him in the forehead while he was pointing out the location of a machine gun.
