EXO, this should make your day. All the Bottomside docks are white again. Lorcha Dock photo taken just after sunset yesterday. Z1fots071. Lorcha Dock painted white again from John Moffitt, 11th Apr. 2009. 2017-10-31. Note from Karl: This picture was blocked by Photobucket because they changed their terms. It is now reposted as of this date from another server!

White paint! Looks so much better now, thanks for passing on the changes. Ran out of yellow I hope. Hoping its not the old street curb whitewash, gone after the first rain like in the 70's P.I. I knew.
What was the official color prewar and war time, anybody know? Concrete gray?

Considering this is a "whats new" thread, for anyone visiting the Philippines in the immediate future, Sun Cruises is back on a 7 day per week trip schedule (weather permitting).

What is new on Corregidor? There is always something new! Maybe a historical building has collapsed, or a post war structure is razed or changed, an existing thing may look different because of the season etc. We may have a single image shot that doesn’t fit in any other thread or album and I may place it here. For that reason I started this new album in my Photobucket account, called -2013 Random Images No1-. Here it is and the pictures have descriptions and are bigger than in this thread: tinyurl.com/p7sw2v9Here are some sample shots: 130117. That ex souvenir building between the Fort Mills, ex Spanish Flagpole and the Topside Parade Ground is gone as of 2012. But the walkway is repaired! View is from coming from the Ft. Mills HQ. 130117 Our GPS track and location of the gone souvenir building and the Crocket Ravine. 130117. That ex souvenir building between the Fort Mills, ex Spanish Flagpole and the Topside Parade Ground is gone as of 2012. But the walkway is repaired! View is from the Senior Officer Quarters (SOQ). 130117. The Grass is back with vengeance between the West SOQ buildings. We are walking in the direction to Battery Wheeler. CFI had spent a lot off time clearing them a few years ago. But it is impossible to keep all clear with their insufficient recourses. 130117. At lower end of Crockett Ravine. This rock wasn’t here a few years ago but we were able to get around it. John and I are on the way to Battery Cushing via this Crockett Ravine Creek, it had some water flowing but we were able to keep our feet dry. 130117. In the lower end of Crockett Ravine. It was steep coming down from the C1 Tunnel entrance. And just above the creek bed we had to do some extensive cutting and hacking to get down here. But we got here without a 3000 to 4000 peso boat. 130117. In the lower end of Crockett Ravine. This may have been part of the South Shore Road and slid down here, the Crockett Ravine Creek banks were steep. 130117. In the lower end of Crockett Ravine. This cylinder shaped object, apparently poured or stuffed in some kind of container, I have seen in maybe 6 other locations. But none of my Corregidor friends seemed to have noticed them.

CORREGIDOR FOUNDATION INC ADMIN OFFICE NOTICES 2014-NOV-21 On this day I enjoyed an easy day on the island and among other things I wandered into the CFI Admin Office and had a look and took some pictures. It gave me an overview of how Corregidor is administered. 19 images I uploaded into this, one of my Photobucket albums: tinyurl.com/l4t9thpHere are some smaller sample images; they are much smaller than in the album. You may want to go the album in order to be able to read things: Y658. This Corregidor information panel is new and I believe it came out last year in 2013. In the album I made 4 separate images from this information panel so you can read the information. Y659. This section of the Corregidor Information Panel describes the 3rd way of getting transportation to Corregidor from Bataan. It has the contact numbers and it is a large capacity craft. Y660. Here is a recent press release that it is safe to visit Corregidor even though the Philippine Soldiers are put in quarantine in the neighboring island of Caballo because they served in Africa in an Ebola affected area. Y661. In the Corregidor Admin Building is a bulletin board with much pertinent information and here are the important contact telephone numbers. Y662. The Corregidor Rules and Regulations, sheet 1 of 2. Y663. The announcement of 70 Years of Valor-Filipino War Veterans Commemorative Stamps. Y664. An old picture of Bottomside , the way it used to be. In the Admin office are several pictures, but they are hard to photograph because of light and glass reflections. Y665. President Carter 1999 and you should be able to read the rest of the inscriptions on the bottom of the picture.

NEWS FROM CORREGIDOR NOV.2014 Y692. When I walked around Bottomside on the 22nd Nov. 2014 I saw this notice on the Administration Building- door. I never saw a notice like that on Corregidor, so I found it interesting. I did not bother to find out what the material is, but then I was not bidding. Y693. This should be of interest to any large group wanting to visit Corregidor on a low budget. On the 22nd Nov. 2014 there no takers though and the boat did not run to Camaya Point and pick anyone up.
