I have been out of touch for sure if I missed this thread. I knew Chet by email for years. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Chet the soldier who had recurring nightmares about his time on the tail of Corregidor after the explosion of the Navy Intercept Tunnel? Chet asked us, who were lucky enough to get to travel to Corregidor, to find a particular tunnel east of Kindley Field were his men used a flamethrower on the Japanese inhabitants of this particular cave and THEY came out screaming AND ON FIRE.
He carried their screams in his dreams into the 2000's when he asked us to get a picture of the cave empty, so he could sleep nights. In his dreams when he died, those men would be waiting for him.

Goodbye my friend...............
I had found a 30 caliber slug on the tail near his cave and sent it to him, 10 years ago? He had it put on a chain and wore it around his neck every day...... he told me.
