Here are photos of the MG towers. As for the use, I remember the late Al McGrew, H-60th mentioned to me that in December of 41, one crew manned one of the tower, (cant recall which unit) but was hardly a factor since the Japanese flew high at that time. In one of the other air raids, the MG crews decided to abandon the use of the tower as they decided that they were more of sitting ducks. Let me get back to you in the locations.

I agree okla, taking out Yamamoto must have been a high point for Col. Mitchell.... making him a little standoffish due to the celebrity it created for him possibly.
Great shots of the M.G. Towers Batteryboy.
Were those towers pictured, at the top of some of the huge creosoted wooden poles or on metal stands? and were those poles actually imported from the U.S. for this purpose and for the antenna farms all over Corregidor??
On Bottomside, around one of the seldom used eateries, on the east side of Skipper Hill--- at the cut through from the west side--- east of the Hotels Generator building.... (just west of the former Japanese prison camp of 1945, to much info yet?)---can be found many 6ft. 8ft. high huge wooden creosoted poles that may be what's left of the poles used in the various Antenna Farms on Corregidor, those on Topside, 1/ One just north of Mile Long Barracks,( Mac's Topside Barracks headquarters used for contacting the Philippine islands Military posts), 2/ A larger one across the road and west of Mile Long Barracks, 3/ One above Battery Way which served as a major radio location as Battery Way was not staffed as a Mortar battery early on,a radio set was also located just beneath Way. 4/ Near Battery Keys, (part of Navy Intercept farm)? 5/ West of the Navy Intercept tunnel.
Or were some from the Machine Gun towers?
So many of the cut off pole bases can be seen in these various locations mentioned above, most cut almost flush with the ground.

A couple of the MG towers were located near the Groupment stations at Way and Geary and another one near the Wheeler tunnel area. Some were elaborately done with wooden roofs
