Looked like a good trip there Armyjunk, taken with the usual suspects. Why did there appear to be waves in the water in some tunnels and others were very still? Those walking make the waves?
Talking about tunnels, I've read in a few books that there are tunnels under all of Intramuros, or were at least. In "Mac Arthur in the Pacific" is the following passage as one example.
"The last Japanese strong point in Manila was Intramuros.......Originally located on the edge of Manila Bay, Intramuros was bordered on 3 sides by an old moat that had been converted into a public park and golf course.
KNOWING THAT THE JAPANESE HAD BUILT AN ELABORATE TUNNEL SYSTEM UNDER THE OLD WALLED CITY WHICH WOULD ALLOW THEM TO MOVE THEIR TROOPS AROUND SAFE FROM AMERICAN SHELLFIRE................"
A TUNNEL SYSTEM IS MENTIONED IN "RETURN TO THE PHILIPPINES" AS ALSO BEING UNDER INTRAMUROS AND THAT THE AMERICANS THEMSELVES USED THE TUNNELS TO ENTER INTRAMUROS DURING THE FIGHTING FOR MANILA.
DOES ANY OF THIS SYSTEM STILL EXIST?
I'M NOT REFERRING TO THE SPANISH BUILT UNDERGROUND CELLS IN FORT SANTIAGO WHERE MANY FILIPINO'S WERE TORTURED, DROWNED AND DIED THROUGHOUT THE WAR.

The waves are from us walking, no breeze to speak of in the tunnels
