Hello Gents, This is a good place to post our personal photos and snapshots through the lens of our own camera. We have enjoyed the recent postings of a lot of members here but its also a good thing to see the older photos taken several years back during the time when internet was in its infancy and way before the forums was even created. A lot of these will be scans of prints and shows friends and colleagues when they were exploring the island I will start by posting this: That's EXO and Batteryboy beside a 12-inch M1912 Mortar at Battery Craighill, Fort Hughes, Caballo Island. This was taken about 13 years ago. Hope to see your own photos as well. The older the better... Cheers, batteryboy

Hey Guys....Never have I viewed a more vicious looking couple of "cut throats" as appear in this photo. Surely, they are up to "no good".

A formidable group, indeed. Lord have mercy on all those who they would encounter. This is going to be a great thread, especially pics with narrative, where possible, to describe the dastardly deeds which were being planned and perpetrated. Cheers.

1962 MANILA IS REPAIRED German cities not yet, seen both at this time. In this Flashback thread, am I going too far back, 1962? X225-- The Jones Bridge in Manila is fixed by 1962! My best buddy, Texas Boy Ruben Teams and I, Karl Welteke, both Seaman in 2nd Division (Deck Department) USS Belle Grove LSD-2 on a visit to Manila on our own. I don’t remember too much, we just took a bus ride one day from Olongapo and got back the same day. X226--The Manila Post Office from across the Pasig River 1962, it is repaired, that is me.

Hey Guys....Old photos from long ago days, taken when you were young, serving in the military and "green as grass" are priceless. I have a few taken while in Korea and some from R & R in Tokyo (1952) that I wouldn't reveal to the general public for all the Gold in Fort Knox. . Oka-san has insisted, for years, that I destroy the R & R pics, but, to me they are "non-negotiable". I have never understood her "beef". They are not obscene, but a bit "bawdy" in her view. cheers.

Haha such awesome photos. I was surprised to see that anyone could visit caballo island... Last time I was in the area I got the impression that it was shut for any sort of "non official" visits. *Jealous* Guess its the lack of "connections" on my part.....
