I'm looking for some help in finding the present location of the Aetas.
I know this is probably not the right place to ask but I know lots who read, and participate, in this site, have been in the areas I'm looking for help with, so here goes.
A close friend of mine from my Peace Corps days in the early 70's, has written a book about his time living with the Aetas.
"LIVING WITH THE PINATUBO AETAS'
By Richard Schneider P.C.V
I have told him that I will get a copy of his book to the Aetas, if at all possible next year.
Rich lived with the Aetas in the Barrio of Villar, Zambales.
Is it still around or did the Eruption of Mount Pinatubo destroy it?
He also lived with a family in Botolan, not far from Iba on the coast road in Zambales, is it still there?
His book is an interesting read.
I bought my copy on amazon.com.
A quick interesting passage that was part of our folklore during my time in Peace Corps.
We had our own Medical Dept. back then because we came down with so much crud.
We would be examined in our official P.C. Doctors office and then walk to the Manila Medical Center on Taft Ave, near U.N. Ave. for further consultation.
After one such exam a Volunteer was going to the Hospital for further treatment, walking along busy Taft Ave(pr L.R.T. days).
He got about half way, when someone jumped off a Jeepney and grabbed the paper bag he was carrying, and disappeared into the crowd.
We all would have liked to see the look on that guys face when he opened his stolen paper bag only to find the Volunteers soupy stool sample............
Any help on the above mentioned request would be appreciated.
