Hi - I'm new here so here's a brief intro:
I live in Oklahoma and am retired USAF. 8 years enlisted (ground fuels and air traffic control), 12 year officer AWACS Weapons Director). I've been researching my family's military history (Grandfather WW I & II; Father WW II, Korean & Vietnam wars). Now I am researching my Father-in-Law (WW II, Philippines, Bataan, Corregidor, POW Philippines & Japan, USAF and Civil Service). Before his passing in 1989 I listened to him talk a little about his WW II experiences. I have done some initial research and determined he was an Ordinance Sergeant and was captured when Corregidor fell. I the following specifics:
PIERCY ISAAC B,6852926,SGT,ORD,TN,62
Aug 1945 transported to Japan aboard the Noto Maru POW Camp - Hiroshima #4, Mukaishima
I am still looking for more info and hope these forums will help with my research.

Welcome, Bill. There's a lot of POW information scattered around the forum. Just ask if you have any specific questions and someone will probably have some idea where to find the answer. A good all around place to start is mansell.com/Best, John
