I have never been able to reach Caballo, a pity I'm sure. Will definitely postpone any plans to do so in the immediate future.
What of the Navy personnel stationed on the island of Caballo? I have had many a cold San Miguel with fine Philippine Navy folks on Corregidor in the past, over from Caballo for a little R.& R.. Restricted to the island also now, or on patrol as usual chasing elusive dynamite fishing enthusiasts?

Been there 6 times or more. Its a nice place if you ask me and one of my favorite forts (actually all the forts are my favorite) Three of my favorite batteries are there: (Woodruff, Gillespie and Craighill) and been fortunate enough to visit and explore them. Oh yes, don't forget "Shermie" (the M4 Sherman Tank) by the shoreline. I will miss him.
Now with this quarantine, it will be more difficult to get clearance to get there in the coming years. (even after the quarantine is over).

There's a series of official Philippine Navy photos at www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/387980/news/nation/photo-gallery-filipino-un-peacekeepers-begin-quarantine which are a bit of a laff, not for themselves, but in comparison with the press images elsewhere which indicate the quarantine wasn't exactly strict at the airport. (see below.) The crew of the LCP are in bio-hazard suits, all very nice, very businesslike, appropriate, looks effective and efficient, well done all. The assuring effect is diminished by other images showing that quarantine was a bit loose on arrival at the airport. Hey guys, if it's not strict, it's not real, and if its not real, then it's PR. When you cycle through the images taken on Caballo, check out the Mess Hall's karaoke machine. I love the Philippines, I really do, it's where old, big-ass analogue TV's go to be reborn! Nothing goes to waste.
