At least their denials seem to be this one guy, whom I never heard of, rather than general torture denial.

Hey Guys....It seems that every so often some Japanese person will come forth, attempting to downplay or even cast doubt on the Death March ever happening. Several years ago I read (maybe somewhere on this Forum or a similar site) of this young (20s or 30s in age) Japanese woman who claimed to have walked the route of the "Death March" from Mariveles to San Fernando and this fact, somehow, minimizes the depth of the ordeal suffered by the POWs, etc . She didn't mention if she rode a railroad freight car, crammed with other sick and dying people, the final miles to Tarlac. She also failed to point out that she was not suffering from Malaria, Berri Berri, malnutrition, etc. There was also no mention of not being allowed sufficient food or given "breaks", to recoup or drink water. Lastly, there, certainly, was no mention of being poked in the Butt and other body parts with those infamous "pig sticker" bayonets that the Japanese troops were so proficient in using on helpless POWs and civilian victims thruout the Pacific/Asian conflict. I am 82 years of age and I betcha I might make the same trek as did this woman if given the time and conditions that she was given. Folks, such as this woman, are either in denial or demented. Just sayin'.

Well said, Okla. We've all seen the sworn statements and photos describing the treatment the POW's received. Those who want to deny it have something other than the truth as their goal.

Recently, on Facebook, someone reposted a twitter post made by a Japanese woman who said the kind-hearted Japanese removed the POWs away from the malarial area of southern Bataan. I replied that would be like the Nazis saying they kindly removed all the jews from Poland and Russia into those rest hotels at Auschwitz!
I won't deny that many of the hardships were caused by the POWs' malnutrition and disease, but the March could have been a lot less hard had they been allowed to proceed at their own pace, help other POWs and get water when they needed it.
