JAPANESE WAR DEATH MEMORIAL MARKER AT THE ABUCAY HACIENDA BATTLE FIELD AREA
Victor, web master of the “pinoyhistory.proboards.com” wanted to check out the Abucay Hacienda Battle Field for some time now. In 2009 we got together and did it. In the process we came across a Japanese War Death Memorial Marker and we took pictures.
If you are interested in this history, I recommend to read “The Fall of the Philippines” by Louis Morton, Chapter XVI “The First Battle of Bataan”> This is the URL:
www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/USA-P-PI/USA-P-PI-16.html14 images were uploaded into this album about the Japanese War Memorials in the Philippines. It is the M-series of images, numbers M1 to M14, in this album, and is about the Japanese War Death Memorial Marker at Sibul, near the Abucay to Abucay Hacienda Road which is a location on the former Abucay Hacienda Battle Field in 1942. This is the URL:

W71 (M0) in Sibul, near the Abucay to Abucay Hacienda Road (Bataan) is a religious Stature, (Buddhist I assume); it has been put up by the MIA-KEN DAIICHI SHUMUSHO Branch of the Japanese SOHTOHSHUH Sect. It remembers the war death.
W72 (M2) the three musketeers in front of the Japanese Memorial Marker in Sibul, near the Abucay Battle area. Left to right are Karl, Victor and Canadian George, we went here in 2009 to study the Abucay Hacienda Battle area.
W73 (M4) this is the Abucay Battle area map, it is provided by the forum member Victor. I marked on the map where approximately the Japanese Memorial Marker is along with the Sibul Pool.
W74 (M5) on the Google Earth map I marked in the location of the Japanese Shrine and how it relates to the main landmarks of the Abucay Defense Line. It is located inside or next to a swimming pool recreation area.
W75 (M6) when we visited in 2009 construction was going on to improve the swimming pool resort. I believe Sibul, Tagalog, in English means a water spring.
W76 (M8) on one side of this Japanese War Death Memorial Marker is writing to explain the purpose and who did it in 1978.
W77 (W10) close up of the writing in the image #M8: It has been put up by the MIA-KEN DAIICHI SHUMUSHO Branch of the Japanese SOHTOHSHUH Sect. It remembers the war death.
W78 (M11) close-up of image #M1, the front of the Japanese War Death Memorial Marker, the writing seems to be ancient Chinese.
W79 (M12) our purpose was to study the Abucay Hacienda Battle Field, in the process we walked over this Gentleman s property. Victor engaged the Gentleman, explaining our purpose and the owner listened attentively.
W80 (M13) the owner showed us small arms ammunitions that he had picked up over the years and then gave those artifacts to Victor who was very happy about that. Surely we had walked over the 1942 Abucay Hacienda Battle Field.
W81 (M14) what are these, fuses-for what? The owner also gave these things to Victor. I certainly assume that the Japanese War Death Memorial Marker is to honor the Fallen in the battle for the Abucay Defense Line.
Note:
Victor, the web master of the “pinoyhistory.proboards.com” also contributes many things in this forum. This thread was started by him and deals with the Abucay Hacienda area:
