Hello everyone. My name is Willy, I am the dockmaster in the Royal Naval Dockyard Bermuda and I have a huge problem. I cannot seem to fill a never ending desire to go to Corregidor. I have been a few times already and each time I return, I learn more than when I was there, so off to Corregidor again in February! I would like to post some pictures I took and ask a question or two about what it was or its function. The Anthem of the Seas is coming down the channel right now so time for Line Handling. See you soon...

Ok how do I fix that? Can I just post them right here for everyone to see? Unfortunately not. Proboard's free hosting allowance for posting images direct into the message has long since been consumed, and thus you need to have a third party hosting, such as Photobucket . Photobucket, which is free, makes it easy to upload your images, obtain the code that is then copied & pasted into the message. - Registrar.

Hello T2 It is my turn trying to explain how this image posting and sharing the images from your Photobucket account to our forum works for me. W762 this is what you want; those image codes to show up in your Photobucket account under your images. W763 this is how my front page looks like and then click that engineering or mechanical wheel or reel where I pointed the red arrow to. W764 after I clicked the engineering or mechanical wheel or reel where I pointed the red arrow to, it opened this page. Note the settings I have chosen. I chose only two image codes, good enough for my purposes. I believe the Easy Linking Mode and Link Back Option have to be checked also. Notes: Don’t forget to click “save” in your last step, image W764. I also had problems uploading the images in the past. The problem was I gave the images names and they were in sub albums which all became part of the URL and that made the image URL way too long and it did not upload!!!!!!!! That is why I only give the images a short number now! 1. Good luck and I hope it works for you.

OMG...IS this going to finally work??? This is bottomside, South Beach, close to the south mine wharf. According to my 1921/25 and 1936 maps this building was the torpedo loading room. In the black-and-white photograph on the right in the middle with open sides, is the market, The long building to the left is the torpedo warehouse with the railway tracks running into it and then out the other end of the building toward the south dock is the torpedo loading room. I believe this building is what I have photographed earlier this year, my question is what are these cast iron rings and what was their purpose, another question I have is what exactly was the "torpedo" back in the day, was it as I know it from the Pearl Harbor movie or was it a can like object that was submerged in the minefield? Thank you Thank you. T2 Read more: corregidor.proboards.com/thread/1923/corregidor#ixzz47uFdCe00CAN SOMEONE FAMILIAR WITH PHOTOBUCKET ASSIST T2 PLEASE? - REGISTRAROMG....THANK YOU KARL!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok good you are able to post the pics. Now the round holes in the concrete with the iron rings are for handling mines. The concrete base you see is part of the mine handling platform. Originally the buildings were constructed for the Army and was later used by the Navy as a torpedo storehouse.

Thank you very much B-boy such fascinating history for me, I can see it all now. I am finding a lot of double meanings, if you will. Like the rails became roads, and different useage in the buildings from 1920's to pre-war and beyond as time progressed and the needs changed. Makes perfect sense now thank you again...my thirst continues!
