I guess I have to make more apologies for this, but... I have searched the forum and could not find if I'd already posted this film clip, but if I have, well, it's not too much to live through again. In 1970, I was enthralled by the flying scenes in the movie Catch-22. (The rest of the movie certainly didn't live up to the promise of the book.) I can't say that, sitting in that movie theater with my date, I resolved that some day I would do what was necessary to get myself a view to match Yossarian's. But that's what happened in 1985, when I got the opportunity to fly in the bombadier's position of a B-25 in a multiple simultaneous take-off of B-25's. As a consequence, I can't look at this scene without a quickening of my respiration and heartbeat. I see they are doing a TV series called "The Mighty Eighth", and I dread what Hollywood will serve us up through the faux reality of CGI. When are they going to discover that there is more than enough drama in telling the story of the 503d PRCT? I recommend you run the video on full screen, and turn your speakers up, LOUD!
