Heroes' Cemetery, Libingan ng mga Bayani
Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani is located within the former Fort Bonifacio (ex US Fort William McKinley). It was established in 1947 for the WWII Filipino Fallen Heroes. Other Post WWII heroes may also be buried here. Now you can find it south of Bonifacio Global City that is what Ft. Bonifacio has become.
We all know about the American Cemetery in Manila, perhaps not as many know that the Philippines have a similar cemetery nearby. I actually visited both cemeteries several times; in 1993 (no pictures) in 2005 and this entry and pictures are from that 2005 visit. This year I took the family and those pictures will be posted later.
A Filipino friend and I visited the cemetery on the 2nd of Feb 2005 and the 46 pictures are posted in this Flickr album:

W974 (Z14) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, this is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
W975 (Z16 Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, this is the special monument for WWII Bataan and Corregidor. I don’t remember what it says on the other side nor do I have picture of the other side.
W976 (Z18) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, this is the Korean War Monument.
W977 (Z22) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, it seems the cemetery is divided into many sections. This section and the two in the previous images (in the album) are soldiers that have died in Camp O’Donnell in Capas in the hands of the Japanese who did not care whether they died or not and did gave most inadequate care of these POWs.
W978 (Z34) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, the Manila International Airport is near.
W979 (Z36) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, this section just got put in use. In the back we see facilities of the cemetery maintenance unit.

W982 (Z43) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, a staff person is checking on a detail.
W983 (Z44) Heroes' Cemetery, aka Libingan ng mga Bayani, 2005-02-03, other heroes are buried here; Carlos P. Romulo is truly a Filipino hero to me. He run the Voice of Freedom from Corregidor, got to Australia on the last plane on Gen. MacArthur’s orders, landed with the General in Leyte and held many important posts in the Post WWII Philippine Government. His 2nd wife Beth Romulo is the President of the Corregidor Foundation.
