Shameless plug. I have an article in the current edition of World War II magazine on when women were almost drafted in 1945. Before I researched the article, I had no idea that this had almost happened.
It can't be shameless without a picture or a link, Joe. Go for it! - EXO

It is interesting that militant feminists don't insist on girls/women being eligible for the draft.

Hey Fortman....I have long pondered this very thing, although, methinks, that tough old "hides", i.e. Bonnie Parker and "Ma" Barker would, probably, have been kicking down the doors of Recruiting Offices, not waiting to be called up by their local Draft Boards. Just sayin". Cheers.

Here is it is: Drafting WomenThe website and the magazine are well worth checking out. Lots of interesting stuff. There's actually a bill before Congress now that would require women to register with Selective Service at the age of 18, the same as men.

Hey Joe....I am waiting in nervous anticipation for Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi to, heartily, endorse, this proposal. Methinks, it would set a excellent example. Hey Hey, ERA, All the Way. Just sayin'..Cheers.
