Hello! I'm Zak Yuson from Makati. I've always been fascinated with Corregidor ever since I went there when I was 12 or 13. Back then, we went around in jeeps and there was no place to stay overnight. I'm now in my mid 30s and want to explore Corregidor more beyond the tourist tour. My great grandfather was also a WW2 general who was beheaded after the war. Glad to read all these threads. I also write/edit for Rappler.com and we plan to do more stories on history soon. I would like to get in touch with the moderators and anyone who plans to return soon.

Hi Zak, and welcome.
Can you give us more details about your great grandfather. Who was he? What was his background? How did come to be beheaded after the war?
On this site we gleefully dive into the minutia of all things WWII in general and of course Corregidor in particular.

Hi Zak,
I'm going back to Corregidor in 9-10 (Thurs-Fri) February 2017 with a Spanish online friend. We'll be staying overnight at Freedom Cafe, and going around to see the batteries and other stuff like tunnels etc.
