WWII Death March Memorial Shrine in Mariveles has a new Plaque. The Philippine Historical Commission has placed a new plaque, remembering the WWII Death March victims, in the hands of the Imperial Japanese Army 1942. It is dated 2015. Hello Gregg Thank you for posting your pictures from your long 2017 trip from Mariveles Death March Marker “Zero” to the Capas Shrine. They are great pictures shot with a phone; I have not advanced yet to a smart-phone. I noticed several changes from when I visited those sites and will give you a most recent example. Z022. This is a new plaque at the WWII Death March Memorial Shrine in Mariveles; you shot it on the 16th of April 2017. We often call this site: “The Death March Marker Zero Marker in Mariveles”. Z023. Close-up of the previous image, it was shot by MR. Gregg A. Powell. Z024. This picture was shot on the 14th of March 2017 and you can see what was here before. I am glad to see that the authorities are busy sometime trying to improve these WWII memorial sites so people will remember! I have a request, I would like to use a few of your other pictures for the purpose to compare the condition of some markers as to how they looked in the past or that changes have been made, just like in the above sample. The picture will be credited to you of course.
