My Corregidor senses are a little weak as I am concentrating on airfields and airdromes around the PI during WWII. However, can the gents please give me an ID as to where is this location: Notice that there are three A20G Havocs on a straffing run. Is this at James Ravine, Cheney Ravine or somewhere else? Thanks in advance. Tony

Good Day batteryboy, The flight path of these A20s is on a line from Mariveles heading towards Malinta Hill. As you approach the coast of Corregidor you would see the view in the photo. Part of Bottomside north is to the left with the Engineer Wharf just out of sight. Battery Point is just out of sight to the right. The other ravines do not have any large building in them so this is the Power Plant area at Bottomside. The most northern power plant buildings (bottom of the photo) are actually built into the hillside so cannot be seen from this angle. The large empty shell building can be seen in both photos #1 and #2 and it still there today. The shape of the building and the wall-like structures north of it can be seen in both photos. Bottom right is a road going down towards the coast. This is the only ravine where I can see such a road off to the right like this. Note the beached ship in both photos. Both may even have been taken on the same day in February, 1945. Also, building shadows are the same so they were taken at roughly the same time of the day. Finally, above the beached ship in both photos is a structure which I believe is the old gun shelter that you pass as you are walking from Bottomside up towards the Japanese AA gun. Nice photo of the A20s strafing. You can see the puffs of white smoke from the guns. Perhaps the left side white area is not damage to the photo but actually smoke from the bomb blast that occurred a couple minutes earlier as seen in photo #2. John Photo #1 is your photo lightened up a bit. Photo #2 shows this area from another angle. Photo #3 is the full size version of photo #2. You can clearly see Bottomside in the foreground and Topside in the distance

Hi Tony
The pictures you posted have somehow disappeared from your thread. Can you please re-post them? I would love to see them all.
