I am still battling with phantom "joiners" to our forum. Why, for instance, do young females (23) from Indonesia (such as "ajeng") want to apply to join our forum?
Because they are spammers, that's why.
I challenge them to prove they are human, but receive no response.
I am becoming less polite, more didactic. Possibly autocratic.
"Prove to me that you are Human!" I challenge them, and I receive no reply.
I am now becoming more extreme. "Your membership is subject of a member challenge - prove to us that you are human by posting a relevant thread in either the Discussions or Guest Board forums."
They don't.
Let me send my apologies (in advance) to the humans who apply to join with us. Because, it is getting far too difficult to tell the difference between a dumb human and a smart computer. Turing would roll over in his grave.

We've got a bunch of members who have joined us, and haven't made a single post within their first year. I have decided to cut these people from membership. Today I added the following paragraph to our operational procedure, a post dated "Kibitzers are welcome - here are the Guidelines" which has been on our board since August of 2009.
The addition to the policy reads:-
99.9* of our contents are available to readers who are not members, so the cancellation only affects posting. Guests who are not members can still post on some boards.
(This doesn't apply to our FACEBOOK page, where our membership is growing at a huge rate. As far as I am concerned, Facebook numbers are mostly bullshit anyhow. Currently, we are getting an average of fifty new members a week, 95% from the Philippines. Very few are active. )
