Yes some trees will have to come down, particularly the hardwoods anywhere in the vicinity as they are particularly hard when you smack into them.
To attract a certain daredevil tourist the ride could be named, "The Kamikaze". What is to be the braking system? Foot action maybe.
Maybe advertise the ride as a quick way to get back on the boat after the tour.........
"And on your way down, mind the corner of the picnic building Sir.........."

Hey EXO.....That photo becoming a reality would make my "nightmare", as concerns the maintaining of Corregidor as a military shrine/historical site, complete. Surely, nobody or group in a position of authority, would think of allowing it to come to pass. Or am I a completely, naive old fool? ??

EXO, that is the kind of photo that gives you a little smile and a shudder at the same time.

The cable has been installed but no harness is available yet. When asked when this will be operational, hotel staff said the guy who provides the harness went on vacation. Trees have been removed below the cable. This brochure is being handed out at the CCP Terminal where you board the ferry for Corregidor. I had a look at it and stuffed it away in my bag. Tonight I got it out to attach a copy of it here and noticed a little error. Question: Anyone notice anything wrong? Answer: The description says it is at “South Beach” (correct) but the photo is of the 92nd Garage area. P.S. Whoever wrote that brochure is even worse than me when using the English and Metric systems. Usually I don’t combine both in the same sentence.

Hey All. I still maintain that this whole monstrosity is a monumental "CROCK". One wonders when, or IF, this kind of inappropriate activity will ever stop. Methinks, that it is a permanent condition that we will have to live with. A roller coaster on the topside parade ground could still be in the picture on down the line. There are some advantages to being 77 years of age. Maybe I won't live to see such a sacrilige.

I agree with the okla.
By the way, something tells me that you will be around to keep me on my toes for many years yet. ;D

unfortunately, the ever present danger to corregidor is the fact that most of the local populace has next to no appreciation or respect for history and what happened there whatsoever. hence, every once in a while some hair-brained scheme is going to pop up for this sort of thing, based upon the justification that it would help to attract people to the island that might not otherwise visit it. though this may be true, and to some extent may help to some extent help the island to sustain itself, it may also be the catalyst for further desecration of the island by those who could care less, or are motivated by purely monetary concerns (and over there, there are plenty of those), supported by the aforementioned ignoramuses who fail to grasp (or unable to grasp) corregidor's true sacred significance.
