MACHINE GUN TOWER AT BATTERY CROCKETT
Before the war there existed several types of Anti Aircraft Machine Gun Towers on Corregidor. During the siege they did not turn out to be all that practical and few survived the battles.
Of all the WWII or post war images there seems to be only one tower showing up and that one seems to be next to (E’’5) behind Battery Crockett. Fots2 and I have been in the area in 2011 and found one of the 4 concrete tower bases or feet.
On the 12th of April 2015 I made it my project to look for those 4 concrete tower bases or feet; just west of position E’’5, look at the map provided. While there I walked the whole length of the berm behind Battery Crockett.
I started a new album for the Anti Aircraft Machine Gun Towers this tower by )E’’5) is the first entry with 11 images. This is the URL:

tinyurl.com/on96ad9URGENT REQUEST!!!! To mgk1951: Your posted images in this thread do not open anymore, is it possible to activate them again, please?
10 of those images in my album above are also presented here as sample images but are much smaller:
X489. A WWII image of Paratroopers landing on Corregidor on the 16th Feb 1945, an anti aircraft machine gun tower is in back and it must be the one behind Battery Crocket. This picture is already presented here but this copy is a little better in quality.
X490. A section of the 1936 Corregidor map covering the area of Battery Crockett. I have been here two times and I did not see any solid evidence of those simi-fixed 75mm or 155mm gun emplacements. Perhaps fots2 has.
X491. On the 15th Jan. 2011 fots2 and I seen this concrete base or foot of the anti aircraft tower. It turned out to be the tallest one. It was located just a few meters west from the position (E’’5). I think it is the NE corner one.
X492. On my visit of the 12th April 2015 I came across the SE corner concrete base or foot of the anti aircraft tower. I continued walking the whole length of the berm without too much problem.
X493. On my return, walking on the berm behind Battery Crocket, I came across the NW corner concrete base or foot of the anti aircraft tower. It had the bottom end of a steel ladder attached to this base.
X494. This is a 2nd image of the NW corner concrete base or foot of the anti aircraft tower. It had the bottom end of a steel ladder attached to this base.
X495.Then I tried real hard to find the fourth and remaining base of the Machine gun tower. Very unique, where it should be, I found this bottom part of a steel ladder. This area is sloped, thus the different height of the tower bases.
X496. This is a 2nd image the SW corner concrete base or foot of the anti aircraft tower. Only the bottom part of the ladder can be seen. This area is sloped, thus the different height of the tower bases.
X497. Along the berm behind Battery Crocket, west of (E’’5) were a few places that may have been used for emplacement of guns or other defensive purposes.
X498. Along the berm behind Battery Crocket, west of (E’’5) I seen at least two large loose concrete pieces that may have landed here from the explosion of Battery Geary.
