Yea...expensive but split among whoever is with you. The price is per boat.
Let me know about Ternate please? Check your PMs.

Hey Snub....Thanks for posting. I have never seen Forts Hughes and Drum from this Cavite Province "angle" or position. What a bleak place Fort Drum appears to be these days. Bleak enough in pre-war times, methinks. Cheers.

On my last two trips to Fort Drum I have spent part of the time looking around the semi flooded areas aft of Battery Wilson. 1st trip:The boat aka SM toy section LiLo / airbed: Cursed with a Sony touchscreen waterproof camera which constantly entered the menu mode (so changing all the settings and turning the flash off) my attempts at taking pictures verged on failure. This was not helped by the LiLo barely keeping me afloat: The Engineers Office - of course I was not the first person as the ceiling shows. Ah, the enterprising Filipino. I love this window (porthole ?) - from the aft plotting room. This is the difference between seeing plans and reality: Keeping the imagination under control while floating in the dark: The Heads, an unchanging design: On the second trip I returned better prepared with the "Explorer Two", again from SM Toy Section and previously used in the Mariveles Navy tunnels: Various engine room parts: The Engineers Office: Again, what is not seen in the plans - hatch from engineers office looking out onto main machinery space: Looking down into the sump: The forward 14" Battery plotting room: Passage running forward from plotting room and under center of turret: Battery room: And finally, an out of focus laundry:

Top Effort!! Brilliant work!
That took a lot of planning and daring. The images are unique. They take us to the next level - er, well, except that the next level is DOWN!

fireball, Wow you are stuff of Legends, can we make enough noise here so that the RP government would do something to stop the Scrapping and even put some work and reverse the Scrapping so we can preserve the Drum in Arrested decay.?

darthdract,
Not likely. (The phrase "snowflake's chance in Hell" comes to mind.
The "powers that be" even question why it is that people of our 'persuasion' have access to Ft. Drum. Their attitude is that old is the equivalent of useless, and - more importantly - decrepit renders any item able to be converted to money. Selling off of a historical heritage to scrap merchants is one of the lowest, most corrupt acts there is.
The duties and obligations of Trusteeship are a well advanced area of law overseas, though not here. Secrecy evrywhere hides all forms of nefarious conduct. The duties of a trustee - if taken seriously - can be quite onerous, and that is not something which endears itself to persons who obtain authority over a public resource what might be turned into a private profit.
Indeed, even to suggest there's something below deck that is still valuable will be such as to embolden the steps to be taken in removal of such items.
The PTB are already outraged that the 'cleansing' of Ft Drum is evidenced in the totality of the images taken from year to year by tourists interferes with careful plans.
For over a decade, I have been trying to promote the message that scrap metal can be sold only once, but that tourism, professionally developed, can be sold six days a week and twice on Sundays. I really don't know why I bother.
