The Genko Line has always interested me. A line of pillboxes stretching from Paranaque across Nichols Field and south of Fort McKinley to the heights of Laguna de Bai along the Hagonoy Isthmus, armed with guns from Japanese warships (20mm, 6-inch guns, etc), some 6000 yards deep.
I've always wondered how it looked like, at least one of those blockhouses. I tried googling it, but got no images. The area it was located is now heavily developed, and I have doubts there are remnants of it. Still, it might be possible that a pillbox or two are left, serving perhaps as a foundation of some modern building, or buried under earth.
Has anyone tried to looking for remnants of the Genko Line?

Yes I have. Too bad much of the development at Fort Bonifacio has erased the pillboxes and the defense lines and defilades. About two years ago, a natural cave that was used to house a Japanese 105mm can still be visible by the road just before you reach the Petron station. Now its hardly visible.
There was even the Bonifacio Tunnel, dug pre-war and used by the Japanese during 44. The last time I was there was in 1996. Its just at the back of the present day International School right across Market Market, where the old Philippine Army museum was. I dont know if its still there and chances are they have filled it up.
If you want to know where a mumber fo the Japanese 120mm DP guns plus the rare anti submarine boat gun used during the Genko line defense, visit the Veterans Museaum in Taguig. They also have a rare 47mm AT gun on display just outside.
FWIW,

ISTR seeing that cave. Alas, I didn't have the time and resources back then to go exploring. Thanks for the info BB. If there's time, fots2 and I will try visiting the Veterans Museum on the way back tomorrow.
