For those who just tuned in, Richard Johnsen - the Webmaster of - deceased several months ago after a long fight against brain cancer. For some time, the site - understandably, languished. Rather than have it disappear, Richard King, Shawn Welch and I decided to keep the site going, and - where and when possible - to refurbish it. We contacted Richard's widow, who generously gave us the keys. Over the past few months, I have been refurbishing the site. It's not perfect, and there's a long way to go, but seeing as it is Christmas, I think this is the right time to re-open it to the public. Actually, it has been on-line in a beta version for several weeks. The secret entrance was the "Donate" button. It's likely that there will be bugs in the site, and I would appreciate any assist in being advised of them. The materials on the site are, in the main, those which RJ had gathered. If you have any images, stories etc which are appropriate, well you know the drill.

Hey EXO....This is a good thing. There are several items concerning Fort Drum that I have long been puzzled about. Fots and I have discussed the length of the tours of duty, etc that the troops served on the "Concrete Battleship", but never settled on anything definite. Anyhow, I betcha this endeavor will smoke out a whole batch of new stuff. Cheers.

in the Corregidor 1933 photos it appear that Conchita Island has been incorrectly labelled as La Monja Island - was this how the origional was marked?

It looks like it must be sweltering. All are wearing undershirts. It must have been pretty trying to be garrisoned for any length of time there.
