It seemed a bit ironic that the Korean National Baseball Team was practicing that morning. I wonder if any of them would be aware that some of their countrymen were among the Japanese troops that caused the massacres in this city. Probably not. I remember this.... ;D Fots2: "The enemy!" (or something to that effect) ;D Hahahahahahaha! BTW, the UST museum is once again open, now that their quadricentennial preparations are over. I haven't gone there yet, though. If interested, just send me a text message, and we'll work out an itinerary.

I still cannot believe that you took those photos with a point-and-shoot camera. It rivals a lot of DSLR photos I've seen. Excellent post, fots! I must admit, I have been negligent in posting my own photos, I'm quite forgetful ahehe...! Some of the old photos you've posted I haven't seen before, particularly that of Fort Santiago with the ye olde guns. A most excellent find! Again, thanks for uploading your photos, and thanks for bearing with me and the broken a/c of the van hehehehe! Great post!

Hi all,
I dunno where to put this topic, so mods, please move to appropriate place, thanks.
Anyhow, some months ago, I mentioned to Karl about the Villa Verde trail which has a WW2 connection. I've tried contacting a guy who's trekked the trail, but has not replied to either email or PM at pissbook.
That said, anyone here familiar with it? I'm interested in trekking it one day. Reading some webpages on the battle(s) that occurred on that trail during the liberation, sounds like the area was heavily fortified by the Japanese, hence makes for interesting exploration. Batteryboy, any idea?

Thanks Phantom, Fots! Will contact them soonest. Earliest prospective date is 7-8 May. Otherwise, last weekend of May 2011. Can't wait to go back to Fort Mills.

Thanks fots!
Wait, I need clarification: so only Monday, Wednesday, and Friday? No Saturday and Sunday? Uh oh....
Also, can you please ask if there is additional fee if one will be bringing a mountain bike? My plan is to go to Corregidor on a Sunday with mountain bike, pitch tent at South Dock campsite, bike around island, go on foot to explore some other areas, leave Fort Mills on Sunday afternoon.

So what are the ferry schedules? Very very interested in doing this. The aborted Tarak Ridge-Fort Mills trek I was planning for March 2011 now looks more feasible with this ferry service. So excited...!

BTW, the article mentions "commercial landing craft tank." What private outfit operates an LST?
