My uploads went beyond Corregidor because the men and women of Corregidor went beyond the confines of Corregidor to various POW Camps in the Philippines. If you wanted to follow the fate of Corregidorian POW's you could take this board to Japan and Manchuria but as you say, you would have to compartmentalize this Board. If this Board was strictly about Corregidor then the timeline would have to end on May 6th. I think the researchers, historians and descendants will take this Board wherever it needs to go. Most of the photos I posted were .8 to 2MB. I really do not know how that translates into dpi. I am not tech savvy which is why John Eakin has been after me to use ftp. When I try to use ftp software, I feel like a mental midget for I have not the patience to learn it. Since I live in a small city on Bataan, I have no one to come visit and educate this old man on its use. Sorry John.

How to compartmentalize this material is something I think every web site struggles with. The only thing I can suggest is that Wes Injard at Mansell.com - which is probably the broadest POW site - is good about linking to sites if you let him know what you have. Most other sites are also good about posting links.
I think the hard part is in sharing documents. Most of this stuff takes a little massage to make it web ready and even more time to organize it logically. Consequently, I think every web site has an attic full of stuff which is a little out of their area of specialization and never gets to the other sites which it may be relevant to.
Several of us who regularly exchange files tried different approaches, and, while none are completely satisfactory, FTP has proven to be the best approach we have found. Other than the fact that most FTP software is not real intuitive, it can't be opened up to the public because the files can easily be modified and/or deleted so we have to have some access controls. Also, many image files are rather large so bandwidth becomes a problem if people start doing wholesale downloads.
Bob - I use FileZilla and FireFTP (a FireFox add-in) as FTP clients, but there are lots of other programs available, most are shareware. If you can ever get past the initial learning curve I think you'll find it simpler to use than even PhotoBucket. Just think of it as Windows Explorer and you're moving files between two hard drives. There may be some even simpler FTP clients if you can find a 12 year old hacker to set you up. Maybe I can tempt you with the X files from your back yard. <G>
