Can anyone recommend a good-quality transparency scanner?
I have about 10-12,000 color slides Dad took of the Harbor Forts that I would like to scan to digital, and before spending any money on it I wonder if anyone here has had any personal experiences with this or has any recommendations?
Any information will be much appreciated. Thanks!

happysniper,
About seven years ago I decided to scan hundreds of old slides. After doing online searches for recommendations, I bought an EPSON Perfection V700. This one worked great. I could scan many slides at a time and different format slides too. Some models even have a bulk loader where you fill it with slides and just let it do its thing. Scanning can be a long boring job if you babysit the process.
I expect this model scanner does not exist anymore but a quick search will show you what options it had which might be useful to have in a new machine. There are many quality options that you can select and when you are happy with the results, save a profile of it so future scanning is simple.
This info is not of great help but as a start I would suggest online searches for user comments and tips.
Have fun and good luck.

Thanks Fots2. Am already looking at a couple online, just thought I'd see if anyone here has had experience with a good one.
Interesting....found a V700 on Amazon.com ....sheesh, $580! Ouch!
