Hey Pierce...Regarding access to the gun position(s) on Conchita, would that crevice/crease leading up from the rock/concrete slab on the left side of the formation, be the remnant of where some type stairway/ladder/etc might have been erected, when widened. Maybe, it was meant to be such, but was never finished??? Just sayin'. When Fots initially posted this photo, I was struck by the fact that if Machine Gun(s) were placed in those carved out areas, their field of fire would be mostly toward the face of the bluff. Maybe, I am viewing this position in an incorrect way and have a totally erroneous image in my senile mind. It would be helpful if I could view this position in person, but that ain't gonna happen, Again, just sayin'.

I do not know exactly how they got up into those positions on Conchita Island and Rock Point. No steps or foot notches in the rock are visible. Someone suggested once that it was by rope ladders which I suppose is possible. If there ever was easy access to these machine gun positions then they are missing now.
Okla, you are correct in that the Conchita Island gun positions face the cliff. That makes no sense to me either.

I hadn't really thought about the direction of the gun positions on Conchita, but I guess it is a little odd that they would be facing Corregidor. I'd have to check out the crease for myself, or see it from another angle to make a better guess, but it sure seems like a ladder or something could have been built to go straight up to the top.
