One thing I thought I would point out is that this tunnel does not appear to be an “H” shape by design. I suggest that sometime pre-war a single straight storage tunnel was constructed. It was completely concrete lined, had metal brackets on the walls and even electric lights in the ceiling. Probably during wartime a second straight tunnel was constructed and a perpendicular piece was added to create the “H” shape. Evidence of this is where the perpendicular tunnel meets the concrete lined tunnel. The intersection is not smooth concrete. A doorway has been chipped into the concrete wall for access to the unlined sections of tunnel. Scrappers appear to still be at work and this is right behind where some of the island’s employees live! Thanks Karl. Good job showing us that tunnel. The intersection where the perpendicular tunnel meets the lined tunnel. Note the rough chipped concrete wall. Looking towards the lined tunnel. The far side concrete tunnel wall is in view.

I have a few photos of the "H" shaped tunnel as well. They aren't very different from the photos that fots and Karl posted, but I figured I'd post them here anyway. The concrete lined portion of the tunnel. Looking down the center of the "H" through the rectangular hole in the concrete. Looking towards the unlined side of the "H" from the middle connecting tunnel.

ENTRANCE TO H-TUNNEL IN ENG. RAV. MORE DIFFICULT TO EXIT IN 2016 Pi-Sailor aka Karl or Carlos is struggling to exit the H-Tunnel in the Engineering Ravine, in the former Fort Mills on Corregidor Island. I received three pictures only today from my German family friend who had visited Corregidor with me on the 15th to 17th Feb. 2016. MANY TUNNELS ON CORREGIDOR, MANY THREADS HAVE BEEN GENERATED. V24 EXO at the entrance of the large 1918 Infantry Barracks Tunnel in James Ravine, 2005-02-15. This is an important tunnel and I cannot find a thread for it. I know we have made many entries about this important and interesting tunnel and its missing brother tunnel at Battery Point. Other important tunnels, others and I have written about, but they don’t have threads. A few examples are the 1000 Men Tunnel in Grubbs Ravine, the big Middleside Tunnel, #43 RJ Tunnel, two tunnels in Ramsey Ravine fots2 and I have visited a few years ago etc. Yesterday I searched the forum with the word “Tunnel” in the thread name and came up with numerous tunnel stories including all the famous ones from fots2. This should be all or nearly so, Tunnels in our forum that has the name “Tunnel” in their thread name. URLs Tunnels on Corregidor Island, the former Ft. Mills What tunnel is this? I thought this would be a good thread on which to ask some tunnel related questions.
I know of at least two tunnels in Engineer Ravine. I have been to the 'H Shaped Tunnel' before, but I have not seen any pictures of the other tunnel in the ravine. Does anyone who has been there have any photos of another tunnel in that area?
I was reading recently about LT George T. Ferguson who was with the 4th Marines. He was a medical officer and was deployed on the eastern end of Corregidor. I read that he and his men dug a tunnel into a rocky cliff that could hold "12 patients, medical equipment, and personnel." Does anyone know the location of this tunnel?

Another tunnel in Eng. Ravine. There is a tunnel about 100 feet east of the H Tunnel in the Eng. Ravine. On my last few visits I had it as my goal finding it again, to mark it on GPS but never got around doing it. It is about the same height level as the H Tunnel. On 6th Dec 2007 EXO and I had a look at it but I only have these two pictures of it. V612. EXO enters the other tunnel in the Eng. Ravine in the former Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island on the 6th Dec. 2007. It is of some size but I forgot how big it is. Judging by this picture, it should be easier to enter that the H-Tunnel about 100 feet to the west. V613. A ceiling, overhead image of other tunnel in the Eng. Ravine in the former Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island on the 6th Dec. 2007 In regards to this, your, story (below here) I have no information. I am heading there again, on the 14th of March 2017; maybe this time

Am currently reading 'Bunkers War' the diary of Colonel Paul D Bunker.
In it he frequently refers to Tunnel C1. Can anyone give me some info on this tunnel?

Second Tunnel in the Engineering Ravine. This album is about the 2nd tunnel in the Eng Ravine, in the former Fort Mills on Corregidor Island. It is near and east of the H-shaped tunnel in the Eng.-Ravine, maybe 80 feet. In 2007 EXO showed it to me, but I only got 2 pictures then. Last year and this year I wanted to find it again. It took some doing but I did find it 2017-03-14. This time I took more pictures and they were put into this album with 18 images. s74.photobucket.com/user/PI-Sailor/library/Corregidor%20by%20subject/Tunnels%20on%20Corregidor/Tunnel%20Eng-Rav%202nd%20one?sort=9&page=1In this presentation I only show 6 images and they are smaller than in the album: V801. (-1). In 2007 EXO showed me this 2nd tunnel in the Engineering Ravine. I remembered that it was left, east of the H-shaped tunnel and not too far. I only made two pictures then. Last year and this year, 2017, I wanted to find it again. V802. (-3). I had forgotten as to where exactly the 2nd tunnel was; I did search for some time until I finally found it. This will help you; the 2nd tunnel is easy to enter but the H-shaped tunnel is now very hard to enter, have a partner and a rope, which can be helpful pulling you back out. -V803. (4). The tunnel in the Engineering Ravine, in the former Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island is found again, the best approach is to head for it straight on and you have to struggle only thru some green plants and then some vines. On other approaches you deal with deep drop offs. V804. (-6). This is the large entrance to the 2nd tunnel in the Engineering Ravine, in the former Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island. One can walk in upright, maybe it is 25 feet long, 8 feet wide and high. V805. (-14). This is a view back at the tunnel after coming back thru first some vines and then those green plants. In front is the Eng.-Ravine creek coming back to the surface, it is covered with concrete, up-creek, for some distance. V806.(-16). This is the same picture as the earlier marked up picture and it should help you find the two tunnels.
