The question of dealing with the Japanese tanks has intrigued me. I've never been to Corregidor, but judging from the photos so profusely provided by Fots2, Karl and others, it seems that the terrain was such that the tanks were limited to a few roads and routes to Malinta East tunnel. If that was the case then some well-sighted field guns could have knocked them out or driven them back. However, I was definitely not there on 5 - 6 May '42, and it is easy to be an armchair tactician 74 years after the event.

Personally, if I had been a defender of corregidor I would have been fighting to live not to win and that would show in my actions on the battlefield. Tanks just seem a good excuse for surrender.
