I sure will my friend. Things are not looking good for our favorite little island, I just read EXO’s latest. Pushing all of that aside I CAN’T WAIT TO BE THERE AGAIN.

The last time I visited Corregidor was in June 2009. My wife and I stayed three nights at the Corregidor Inn. We were the only ones there, but the service was good and we had a great time exploring the island. It was so nice. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We'd like to return but from what I'm reading here it sounds more like a hassle and not worth it. American & Filipino vets should have free access to the Rock. This summer my wife and I will visit Coron and spend our money there.

Just got an e-mail from a recent tourist who stayed at Corregidor Inn. He'd rather stay anonymous. He brought two people to the island, and to share the costs they stayed in a twin room. The cost of the room for the first two people was 7500 peso, and the cost for a fold-away bed was quoted for the third person as an extra 3,500 peso. Yes, a total of 11,000 for three people for one night, one room. To that, add 300 peso for the breakfast for the third person, 750 for the guest at the buffet, and 400 for the guest's dinner. Then pay for transport to Topside.
First Class prices, and one star quality - the swimming pool was out of order. (I'll tell you this for free, the swimming pool was out of order February last year. Can we run a sweep to see if they can have it fixed by February 2020?)

FYI, information from last week's trip:
For those who wish to visit Corregidor for one or more nights and DO NOT want to pay Inn prices, CFI has rooms available at P1,500/nt. I was told larger rooms for multiple people cost P2,500/nt. Two North Dock area establishments serve meals with greater menu choices than the Inn and are cheaper. You can even get cheeseburgers, fries and club sandwiches.
Note that if you travel on the Sun Cruises ferry and DO NOT stay at the Inn, in addition to the return ferry cost, you will be charged for the tour and the buffet lunch even though you may want neither of them (P3,358 total). This information was provided by Sun Cruises reservation people and confirmed to me by the Reservations Manager. They provide a good service, its just getting expensive for ferry only visitors.

Hello Stringbean Two questions re your last entry of 20th Feb 2019:

Question One-If you come from Bataan with a commercial banca and don’t use the Complimentary Round-trip Ferry Transfers, do you still have to pay the 7500 pesos for a twin room and how much will it be for a 2nd or 3rd night.
Question Two- In your example, using the Sun Cruises Ferry with the Complimentary Round-trip Ferry Transfers, how much will it be for a 2nd or 3rd night.?

Just got back from a few days on the Rock. There are things to report, but I felt that I would let some of the images do it. The van which used to meet us in days of old, has seen better days. You can hear it half way across the island. If it was a horse, they should have shot it. I have to eat my words. The Corregidor Inn pool has been filled, and is being maintained. Given the heat of the season, I couldn't help but enjoy it! This sign, hung up outside the tent restaurant on Topside, is a sad attempt to blame tourists for getting bitten. Yeah, blame the victim! What do they mean, "a stray cat"? They are ALL STRAY CATS. The cats shouldn't be there in the first place. Indeed, I thought the tent restaurant was only there until the refurbishment of the kitchen was completed. I am starting to think that the delay to complete refurbishment of the kitchens is deliberate. Unfortunately, the island is being overrun with cats and dogs, neither of which do anything for the pretence of Corregidor being operated on a sound ecological basis. Someone courageous will have to bite the bullet, lay down a policy to be rid of these domestic animals, which are out of hand. The monkeys are breeding like, well, monkeys and they are losing their fear of humans. It won't be long before a tourist gets bitten or scratched. rabies is within the general dog population in the Philippines. A monkey bite, no matter how trivial, can quickly turn dangerous. Monkeys are regular carriers of rabies; even the ones not rabid can create dangerous infections and fevers thanks to the high level of bacteria in their mouths. ... You have little choice, rabies has no early symptoms and is fatal if not treated immediately. Isn't it about time that feelers are sent out to invite a group of expats or volunteers to repair this "gate guard"? The view from "Calhoun's Hill" (on top of the Battery Hearn magazine.) I wish to thank my two companions on this trip for, well, their good companionship and for putting up with me. John Moffitt was a great assistance to our "project" and a good reason for its success. Our third member was Kevin Maurer, writer of the best sellers "No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden", "Gentlemen Bastards: On the Ground in Afghanistan with America's Elite Special Forces", "Valleys of Death: A Memoir of the Korean War", "No Way Out: A Story of Valor in the Mountains of Afghanistan", and "Lions of Kandahar: The Story of a Fight Against All Odds". You have enough information to make an inference. It was noteworthy that Kevin's overnight in Manila was at the Manila Hotel. It proved cheaper than the Corregidor Inn.

Hey guys, I just got on after years of being inactive...I happen to be stuck here in Manila during this Covid thing. My 2 month stay turned into much longer. Anyhow, I see Sun Cruises has shut down. I read all these post to see about how CFI has managed camping out there. I always camped, it was cheap back 15 years ago (50 pesos/night) then I went in 2015 and they allowed camping but restricted us to the beach! I tried to talk to Ron to let me camp elsewhere, but no go. So we stayed at the row houses for something like 700 a night. I heard a rumor that they require a guide to go with you now, that would not be cool,...but not sure if that's even true. Does anyone know the status of camping/guides, or what it was before Covid? Obviously status of everything is at a halt now.

Micha, I always camp when I visit Corregidor as well. It's been a long time since they have allowed camping anywhere other than the beach and I personally never got to experience camping anywhere else. The last time I went was in the summer of 2018 and they increased the price to 100 pesos a night. (This was a very recent change at that time) I've not had any guides following me before, but guards try and make sure you're at the camping area after a certain time at night. Other than that, I was able to do mostly whatever I wanted. Malinta was closed for some reason, but the airshafts are always an option.
