I do feel very fortunate to be able to go to Corregidor, and it is as you say, walking in history.
If you can't go, to read about Bataan and Corregidor is the next best thing.
Below I have copied a list of possible reading sources that I have read and enjoyed.
The list does not contain any books the veterans disapproved of, that I know of.
I have been in touch with several and met a few on Corregidor over the years and discussed the various books with them.
The veteran Al McGrew, (just passed away), for one did not mince words about anything Corregidor and pointed out the books that were fiction, and notions that he thought were incorrect. I was chastised a few times by Al.
He kept you straight.
You may have read these already but lets get the list out there anyway. I bought all these books over the years, used, for a pittance on line at alibris.com.
