I have uploaded a video with colorized photos of the guns of Corregidor. I will be uploading other colorized photos on a regular basis.

Randy, Well that's really interesting, and so is your youtube video. I must admit seeing the intensity of the colors challenged me somewhat, particularly as I always assumed (on no particular basis of fact) that the pre-war dungarees were blue. So I looked into it a little, and found that you are quite correct, the WWI work trousers were brown. There's a fellow at www.vintageleatherjackets.org/threads/my-recent-creations.20462/ who made a pair of work trousers in that pattern for himself. They looked a little too brown for me. Maybe they were issued that way, but tropical use sure changes things. I then googled up variations of "WWI work trousers army US" and came up with a selection, which tend to look a lot lighter and worn out. Anything hung out to dry in the Philippines soon fades all to hell, and they love bleach there! Don't let my comments discourage you, quite the contrary, I think what you are doing is great.

Randy,
It is interesting to see these photos colorized.
Note that one slide which says"Eight 12-inch mortars in two pits of four guns each" is labeled as being Battery Way. Battery Geary would be correct.
Good job though.

Thanks for the comments. I am definitely looking for corrections and help with the colors. My original work had blue denim since they really looked like "blue jeans" but I settled on brown from some internet photos.
One of the biggest challenges I had/have is what was the true color of the guns and what was the true color of the projectiles. On a post here on the boards I saw an illustration from an Army manual that says the rounds are "yellow" so I tried to make them somewhat yellow.
You are right on the number of guns at Way. I have been there several times and should have not made that error. They do creep in sometimes. Thanks.
Any other good photos out there? I am working on the rest of Fort Mills right now and should have it up soon.

There is some debate on whether historical photos should be colorized. Some say it changes history and imposes things that may not be true on the event or situation (either inadvertently or on purpose). Others say it opens up the event to those that otherwise may not spend any time looking at the photo. I think younger people would like to see the color since they didn't grow up in a B&W world like an old guy like me.
Personally, I love the color and it makes the people in the photo come alive. As you notice most of the photos have people in them.
I try to be as true to history as possible and welcome all input.
