My name is Kevin Kaczor from Wrightstown, NJ and I am researching any information that I can find related to the 462d FA BN - Battery D. My Uncle Ted (Taddaues) Kaczor was KIA at the Monkey Point explosion on 2/26/45. He was in the first jump - LZ 'A', the Parade Ground. I've been all over the 503rd web sites and have purchased books but I'm wondering if there is any more personal information that might exist. Perhaps somebody knew him, or has a photograph, any scrap of information. I know he had some connection with Pvt. Gene Karbowski and S/Sgt Guy Neal. Incredibly, there was another Ted Kaczor on Corregidor who was part of the 503rd - he was from Michigan and totally unrelated. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Kevin,
Unfortunately I have very little about your Uncle. Considering that Monkey Point was at the front line of the action, one might need to wonder what someone from the 462d was doing there. Perhaps the answer was that he was one of the forward observers, communicating artillery calls and falls to the 75mm guns lined up on Landing Field "A" (the parade ground) on Topside.
I'd have put a copy of that image here, but still haven't gotten to the bottom of why it is that the images hosted on my paid account at GoDaddy cannot be posted here.
