John Duresky wrote me yesterday to tell me of one of his "finds": " I had another look in this Japanese archive site www.jacar.go.jp/english/ I simply put in CORREGIDOR in the search bar in English. Came up with a lot, most of it doesn't mean too much too me because I'm still a novice with the history of Corregidor where Chester Britt was for only a brief few weeks after he arrived in the Philippines. Have to pretty much click on every BROWSE button to see if there is anything interesting. Most of the items are reports written in Japanese, but some have sketches. I spotted the attached on page 2, item #40. When you download it the file name is C14020716200.c1129100003.hitou_zenpan_006.0766_00 I added 1941 Japanese sketches of Corregidor to the file name because I'm guessing these are pre-WWII sketches of Corregidor made by Japanese spies from a boat Title of section #40 is Enemy's condition between Corregidor bay and Cape Morrison, Report on topography sketch Creator was something called Engineer 4th Regiment//Yodo 4079th Unit//Tanino Unit Don't know any of these and a Google search turned up nothing for me. Maybe one of you doing some checking on this site can make more sense of it than I can." Well, maybe one of you CAN do some checking on the site. If you find something, don't hesitate to report back to us here. Meantime, here's the map John sent us, given the " flipping page" treatment. Thanks, John.
