Your may have seen a few threads already arising from our trip in Sept 2022, but I felt that we should have a thread dedicated to the videos that our film-makers managed to shoot. Briefly, we had Kevin Strahm, a professional sound engineer working in the film industry, who was holidaying in the Philippines shooting videos of how tough life was in the tourist spots of the Philippines. (yeah, we can all believe that!) Well, maybe tough wasn't the word. We had two Kevins on this trip, the other was Kevin Hamdorf, an Aussie professional photographer who has been living in the Philippines since Moses was a kid. Kevin "S" picked up the nick-name "Hound Dog" somehow, I wasn't there at the time. Anyway, Hound Dog has been filming a lot, and he's got a bunch of videos, and I want to showcase his output. The other film maker was Randy Anderson, a USN expat here who resides in Zambales province. He has a resort there. (Some people sure do land on their feet, don't they!) Randy shot an extended interview with Jerry Rollins, who is the current CFI spokesperson. There's an awful lot of politics going on over Corregidor just right now, and we " Corregidor Watchers" are really in a tizzy as to how the post-Covid recovery needs to play out. That will be dealt with elsewhere, this thread is just about the videos. Anyhow that's the intro to this new thread, I will start pasting links tomorrow.

Hello everyone and thank you Paul for the invitation to post some of my recent Corregidor videos. It's always a treat to watch a video filmed very recently, on any topic, to get an idea of how things are right NOW, on the ground, and that's hopefully what my videos convey. My YouTube channel can be found here: m.youtube.com/channel/UC0UBGDg6or764aPC0XcRaHA/videosThere are currently 7 different videos from my recent visit to the island on the channel. I wish I could have filmed more but we were only there for about 3-1/2 days and only visited specific sites on the island. Naturally I'd love to return for a longer visit soon! Thank you for watching and if you have any questions please leave them in the comments! -Kevin S.

The other member of our September 2022 group filming our visit was Randy Anderson, who has an extensive page known as PACIFIC WAR STORIES. The elephant in the room in September 2022 is whether the Bataan-Cavite Bridge will be going ahead. It hasn't been built yet, but already it has had an effect on Corregidor, and it has not been good. There have been ill-conceived works built on the island recently which have resulted in the ruination of a number of the landscapes and hiking trails. THE BATAAN-CAVITE BRIDGE - HOW WILL IT AFFECT CORREGIDOR?
The Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge project includes the construction of two cable-stayed navigation bridges. Called the North Channel Bridge and South Channel Bridge, the structures will have main spans of 400 meters and 900 meters, respectively. The marine bridges will stand in water as deep as 50 meters. Benefits of the new Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge include reducing the current travel time between the provinces of Bataan and Cavite from five hours to 30 minutes or less and easing traffic congestion in the densely populated capital city of Manila. The bridge will also introduce new expansion and economic growth opportunities outside of Manila, such as developing seaports in Cavite and Bataan as major international shipping portals to the Philippines.
