The American archives are not user-friendly with things like key words, etc. However, I found a huge series of binders about the Philippines in WWII. Because everyone may have different interests, I'll leave it to you all to go through it to look for things that you most like if you haven't found this collection already as I suspect you may have. It's a collection of photos from the time America lands to retake the Philippines to the first year or so post-war. Great bunch of high quality photos of men in combat, the civilians and guerrillas, routine life of the men and women, many scenes of damaged buildings and other things, top generals such as MacArthur, Kreuger, and even Eisenhower, detailed photos of Japanese weapons and ammunitions. No shortage of very mundane things as well, but even they give a feel for the billions of parts that made up the war, such as men maintaining weapons, etc.
Begin by putting 111-SCA-2841 in the search bar and hit enter. That seems to be where the collection starts. At the top of the page will show a folder for the Philippines. Click on it and then just start scrolling through with the arrow on the right or left side. Can download any photos you like. Then in the search just start adding 1, so the next one to search is 111-SCA-2842 and so forth. Appears to end at 111-SCA-2992 That is about 150 binders, each with at least 100 photos, so something like 15,000+ total photos to scroll through. Good time filler instead of watching TV. Headings at least give the island in that particular collection which helps a little.
On the plus side, the photos are often excellent, but the blue ink on the back of them you'll see is often badly faded, but if you zoom in most of it can be read.
