Hello:
I'm new to this site, and just registered. I'm looking for information about my deceased Uncle (Pvt. Nicholas D Pento, Army S/N: 11,019,515).
Background: He was part of the CAC. He survived the Bataan Death March. He was on the Hell Ship Arisan Maru and perished. The US Army documented his death on: 24 Oct 1944 (sunk in S. China Sea) I have many of the US Army records for him (including some in a FOIA request in 1988)
Discussion/Request: I was wondering if there was someone in the CAC forum who might be able to direct me to a contact for the Battan/Phillipines Memorial. I believe (and I could be wrong), that my Uncle's name should be listed somewhere there. I would like to see if it possible to get a photograph of the plaque with his name inscribed on it.
Respectfully, Rob

Rob,
Welcome to the forum. I'm not real sure what memorial you're looking for. Your Uncle is listed on the tablets of the missing at the Manila American Cemetery. See ABMC.gov. I think that the cemetery personnel will provide a photo of the inscription if you contact them.
Do you have his Individual Deceased Personnel File (IDPF)? If not, email me at BataanMissing@gmail.com and I'll send it to you.
