I have a copy of the Gasei publication and know this photo of the AA guns well. This book is a exceptionally valuable reference showing the aftermath of the battles on Bataan and Corregidor, the photos sometimes illustrating a very different story than what was often related by postwar US accounts. With regard to Btry. Grubbs, it would seem that the overall results of the garrison's efforts to disable the ordnance on the island was not very consistent. The same situation occured on Bataan, wherein large quantities of ordnance, equipment and supplies fell into Japanese hands.

Battery Grubbs, 15 pictures added
On my Corregidor Island, the former Fort Mills, visit, 16th to 18th Oct. 2018, I stopped by Battery Grubbs. It is a very unique place, one of two 10 inch batteries in the Philippines. The entrance gate is built like a fortress gate. Visitors are taken here, besides the guns, also to enjoy the view and the sunset. Like others I have been attracted to the Battery many times, have a lot of pictures and finally will share a few here now. They are uploaded to my Photobucket account, as the server. Because of Photobucket’s poor quality of service not all pictures may open.
G1 05-01-06 Batty-Grubbs, 12, #1 gun, right end. Number 1 gun of Battery Grubbs in the former Fort Mills on Corregidor Island. Somewhere in this presentation I will add links.

Photobucket doesn't let this picture open, at least not on my PC; here is the alternative, click on this IMG Thumb:

When I visited Corregidor in 2014, Battery Grubbs was one of the first places I wanted to see because of the fact of the 10-inch guns, which are similar (in caliber, at least to those that remounted at Fort Casey where I volunteer as a docent. Excellent report!
