Based on the wording Paul I think it's either in an area where the Japanese stored ammunition or the officers supply of liquor! I have not seen this before, very interesting picture. How about Battery Grubs fire control room? Is that other Japanese graffiti scratched into the wall next to the script? It is inside somewhere the weather doesn't reach as the yellow paint is still visible on the wall............

The sign is at the ground level at Middleside Barracks, on the side facing away from the road. (Photo DSC00969.jpg dated 24 March 2007.) There are other remains of Japanese painted signs, though they are not as extensive - the one at Battery Grubbs also pops into mind. Recommended Reading: "Those Who Await Us On Corregidor"
