This is an update on using boats to go to Corregidor because there were a few new developments in recent times.
The previous thread “Corregidor on a Tight Budget” still has good information but needs updating and will be updated soon:

Here is some back ground information:
For a long time I used the Villa Carmen boat and they charged me 1250 for a single boat ride, which I usually split with a friend.
That started about 7 years ago when the Cabcaben Boat COOP wanted 1500 but Villa Carmen charged only 1200. A couple years ago Villa Carmen increased it to 1250 but I was willing to live with that.
Then this year Villa Carmen wanted 2000 Peso (for a day trip including return trip) or 3500 Peso (trip to Corregidor and a pick up a few days later) because they joined the Cabcaben Boat Association. So last time for the 65th Anniversary (2nd March of recapturing Corregidor) I took the Sun Cruise ferry from Manila because of that fare increase.
Then I had the great idea to try to use the service of the almost daily boat ride by a certain Mr. Menard who delivers groceries to the island and ferries sometime residents of Corregidor. Come to find out his boat belongs to a Mrs. Sonja, a high officer of the Cabcaben Boat Association.
Both Mr. Menard and Mrs. Sonja said I need permission from the R.P. Coast Guard to do that. Mr. Menard and Mrs. Sonja also wanted a high fee of 1200 Peso for a single ride and then relented; if I brought Paul Whitman, the Corregidor.org Webmaster together the fee would be just 1200 P.
I visited Mrs. Sonja on the 21st April 2010 to try to renegotiate but she was in the province. I talked to her on the phone and text and she was going to reconsider the price after my appeal for a fair price.
I told them I would try to get permission thru the Corregidor Foundation Officers (CFI) on Corregidor. They were unable to get permission and I don’t know why, yet.
But this whole effort is now academic and I informed Mrs. Sonja and Mr. Menard the disappointing news today and said my thanks and adieu.
I will try to use the ferry Monday the 26th April and stay till Thursday, God willing. The use of the ferry, less you take the Corregidor Inn package can be an iffy affair also. Visitors to Corregidor who want to stay a few days and take up the other opportunities to stay in or tent are put at the end of the line and may not get on.
As of today (per text) Villa Carmen will charge 2000 Peso for a day trip per boat and their boats can handle 10 persons, maybe less when many are over weight. 3500 Peso to get you there and pick you up a few days later. It is 4000 Peso to Carabao Island and Fraile Island, the concrete Battleship.

The Cabcaben Boat Association I found difficult to deal with in the past, it seems they want to get most money out of people as possible. Today the President of the Cabcaben Boat Association told me over the phone : A day trip cost 2500 Peso and it is 4000 Peso if they pick you up a few days later. He lowered that to 3500 Peso after I told him that I was told 3500 by Mrs. Sonja’s son a couple days earlier. He did tell me rides to Fraile,-Carabao Islands are available but he would have to check with Mrs. Sonja first about the fees.
A few days earlier when Mrs. Sonja was not in her son told me the fee for a day trip was 2500 Peso and 3500 Peso for a drop off trip and to pick you up a few days later. He also said the boat capacity was 8 people. Prices are not posted!
This road leads one straight to the ocean and the Cabcaben Boat Association:

At this church one could park one’s vehicle, I asked the clerk of the church or next to the ocean by the association sign:

This is the small boat of Mr. Menard I tried to use but to no avail. Residents on Corregidor including the Coast Guard use it:

There is a 3rd boat option , I just discovered this option a few days ago. I seen this sign for boat service to Corregidor from Camaya Point. A good road to Camaya Point leaves the National Highway about midway between Cabcaben and Mariveles. The sign below is just before one turns, coming from Cabcaben. It is a big boat so most likely more expensive but good for large visiting parties. I didn’t check it out but the phone numbers are below:
