EXO,
I heartily agree with all the reactions above. This must be one of the best history websites on the Web and definitely beats anything out there on the Pacific War. Thanks for your ongoing hard work; it is much appreciated.

Thanks, Fortman. I wouldn't go so far as to claim we've got the Pacific covered, but I'd like to think that we are heading to the point where we can become synonymous with the best internet resource on WWII in the Philippines. There's certainly room to expand along those lines, for any bright young historian ready to document his learning curve. Some time ago I came up with the idea of a domain exclusive to the War in the Philippines, and pitched the idea of a domain called ww2.ph to Roderick Hall, a colleague. He took up the idea, but I am afraid that while the institution he is dealing with clearly has a wealth of material, the manner in which they are presenting it is not really in the same vein as what we're doing. their approach tends to look a bit, well, staid and unimaginative. Who wants dull? How do you get (and, more importantly, keep) the attention of the generation X's and Y's that you need to attract and keep? I have been pitching ideas like throwing balls at the cans at a carnival side-show, but the reality is that what we do is not an earning proposition that can attract professional web developers to enhance our ideas. The ongoing task needs people committed to raising the history awareness of a new generation, as well as those having web development talent. There's much that can be done, and plenty of room for everyone. For those with Front Page, Expression Web and beyond skills, there's plenty available.

Maybe this fits here?
Hello Chad,
I had a thought, how about bringing some of the older threads back, maybe weekly, under a new title. " Past posts for review, any new information today?" on the main title page.
So much information is now buried with so much on the site. Most don't know all that's inside the lines.
It could help the new guys get up to speed, generate new information, confirm old thoughts. The post picked out could have a link to the whole thread that may now be buried pages back?
Your thoughts.......

Exo, not trying to add to the workload, just an idea to invigorate the site further. We know it's hard to keep up with but we do enjoy it as Okla so eloquently states. I'm one of the lucky ones that can read something here and go check it out on Corregidor. But you don';t have to go on site to imagine whats discussed here, ask Okla, or any others who read the offerings here, and sometimes add to the sites knowledge though reading books or personal research, or even personal experiences.

Phantom, What I have been attempting to do is to send interested traffic (ie those people who are interested in more reading) from some pages on Facebook. To do this I started FB pages for the Corregidor Historic Society, Rock Force, and Battle of Manila. I post images and links to stories. [ I ask that our members & friends sign up for these pages. Putting stuff on these pages is rather a mechanical task, anyone can do it. So don't shy away and say "Oh, I don't DO Facebook..". I know this because that's what I used to say for years. I must also mention that Karl has been really busy of late, extending our vision beyond Manila Bay. I wish everyone would use the Thumbs Up button more when they see things that have had a lot of work put into them. It would be almost a full-time job converting Karl and John's posts on this forum into a sequence of permanent web pages. I started doing this for those posts of John's which I felt merited permanency, but it soon enough dawned upon me that ALL of John's Fots2 posts deserved permanent hosting. You can see all John's REDISCOVERING CORREGIDOR'S FIELD NOTES - at corregidor.org/fieldnotes/index.htm

I thought that I would take you up on your offer to report dead links as I come across them.
corregidor.org/heritage_battalion/admin/projects.html
project.html line 188
<a target="_blank" href="../../Bless%20'em%20All/awards/html/Calhoun,%20William%20T.,%201st%20Lt.html"> I CAN'T EASILY FIND IT, TODD. WHEN REPORTING, CAN YOU CITE THE PAGE (WHICH YOU'VE DONE) , THE WORDS WHICH CONTAIN THE LINK, AND THE ADDRESS OF THE PAGE THAT IT WAS POINTING AT. I CAN THEN TRACK DOWN WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE POINTING - REGISTRAR (Most readers not interested in the back of shop issues - I will delete these after i fix - no time yet - can you send them via email or PM - Registrar)
