Hey EXO....Great stuff. Who would think that this peaceful scene is the site of a thriving community in 1941 and a literal "moonscape" in 1945. Who was it that said, "time changes all things" ? Well. this photo certainly backs that statement up.

EXO, very nice photo plus you're pretty good with that electronic needle too. What program did you use to do that stitch?

My "needle" is PTGui Pro 7.8 and it takes a little bit of getting used to. I have a number of really spectacular fails with it - aircraft with two tails (not P-38's), two towers where there should be one, pieces of rebar appearing in the sky, that sort of thing. When you get along the learning curve, you can get some good shots - the downside is that you end up with some very large bandwidth monsters. But with some tidying up, you can get images impossible to obtain by a single shot - for instance: I do have an undisclosed number of 'special' shots sprinkled around the website as "easter eggs" to reward people who browse in depth, but don't get any feedback - I thus presume that no-one reads the site in depth, or they haven't been found, or if they have been, most folk don't care to leave feedback. Gee, sometimes people get so strange when everything is free!

Another good stitch EXO. Speaking of free, if that program has a "free" demo I may give it a try.

Looks like a PT boat from a distance. Here is a closer look. (I have a couple recent water tank photos I will post for you soon).

Hey Chad....Like you, I started looking for Cmdr John Bulkeley strolling the pier, but decided that this vessel is some type Philippine Navy (Coast Guard) craft. Besides, didn't Bulkeley usually frequent the facilities on the north side of Bottomside?

Wow, nice shots there fots! I'd like to get a ride on one of those. Looks like they put the MGs away off the armored stands ;D
