Fots, your theory (that the work inside Middleside was closed down for some years) certainly looks valid. As to when it was decided to recommence the work, I think we may have to consult the Moore Report/Wainwright Papers for subtle hints.
Chadhill - yes, the subtle questions you were having were a valid "gut-feeling" on the topic. Niggling feelings can be very significant. They're the sign that our brain has been having difficulty in fitting new items in with old observations, and has decided they just don't fit!

What's even sadder, EXO, is that many things in his book are probably true, but we can never know for sure now.

Hey Fots....I am very sure that my "fix" will be well worth the wait. It's apparent that you have been a very busy little bee here of late. Cheers.

Next February is a good time to plan for a return visit to Corregidor. I'll probably be there then around that time too.
I am on Corregidor inland now but go home tomorrow...gotta get those Bataan photos online for okla. He is starting to look a little pale I think ;D

Hey Fots...."Pale" is a bit bland as far as a description of my fragile condition. I may check into the VA clinic for an evaluation if only they would consider my condition to be "service connected". Cheers.

A few days ago, Karl and I had dinner with Steve and Marcia who live on Corregidor. Steve had been given a database of soldiers and civilians who were in the Philippines during the war. When I heard about the database, the first thing I thought of was, are there any “W. White” names listed.
It turns out that there were a few of them. Steve thinks two of them are possibilities as to the one whose name is above the little alcove located below Middleside Barracks. They even have the same first name. We may never know for sure but it is one step closer.
