They just raised the price of the "El Corregidor" from 3,500 to 6,000 I understand.
That should bring in a flood of tourists.
Note from Karl: The new standard Prime Square Enterprise price is 4000 peso for a roundtrip from Bataan to Corregidor if you return the same day. And they may pass on to you an Island CFI docking fee. That happened to me, read my entry in this thread of the 21 Oct. 2018.
Because I stayed several nights on The Rock, they had to make another run to pick me up and called that a fuel charge. So on that visit my travel expense was 6200 peso.
Compare that with a roundtrip air ticket which I’m going to buy Monday, the 14th of Jan. 2019 from Clark to Tacloban which will be 4000 peso with Air Asia and includes 20 kg of checked in baggage.

Not only are Sun Cruises making an effort to be even more expensive than flying, they are now forcing you to pay for things you might not want. FOR CUSTOMERS HOPING TO CATCH A FERRY RIDE FROM MANILA TO CORREGIDOR, WITHOUT THE TRIMMINGS... Sun Cruises no longer allows 'ferry transfers only' which means even though you may not plan to take the day tour or to get the buffet lunch, you are being forced to pay for both of them anyway. I suppose this is what they mean by "all inclusive fares." Sun Cruises ferry ride Manila to Corregidor to Manila now costs P3,358 on a weekday and P3,629 on a weekend. So if you are wanting to trail walk, go nature walking, go bird watching, or bicycle around Corregidor, or want to have a family picnic on the beach there ... If you have special dietary requirements and can't eat their buffet lunch ... So if your scout group wants to camp overnight on Corregidor ...

If your revenue is down, do you reduce the price in an attempt to lure more customers, do you advertise more, or do you increase the price to squeeze your few remaining customers? Well yes, the answer is different if you are a monopoly. Sun Cruises weekday day tour costs P2,600 in 2018. Same tour in 2019 is P3,358. That is a 23% increase in less one year. Is this consistent with inflation? I don't think so, Tim. In my more considered view, the cost of refurbishing the Corregidor Inn was so high, and the time remaining on lease to get Return on Investment so short, the tourist is the cash carabao. CFI will say "it's got nothing to do with us, it's the other guy's business, it's the other guy's decision" and the other guy will say, "there's not enough time for us to get a return on our investment, it's not our fault either." To which a first year business student did say, "If you'd have program maintained the asset, you wouldn't have had to close it down for a year to fix it up." Ours is not to reason why. But as customers, we're entitled to our own opinions.

23% is a huge increase in only one year. People on a limited budget may consider it wiser to spend their Pesos elsewhere resulting in visitor numbers continuing to decline. Think of Filipinos who may want to bring their families to Corregidor. That is one expensive day trip.
Instead of a tour on weekends, some Corregidor visitors may just want to have a picnic 90 minutes away from Manila or explore on their own. I wonder if the upcoming ferry competition will make a difference to SCI those days. Time to bring back “ferry only” trips at a reasonable price.

Fots2, Corregidor should be open and available for ALL, not just those with deep pockets who can afford the high price tickets.

Hi, my family and I are planning to go to corregidor on holyweek. We'll be coming from Bataan. I understand that there are already boats in Bataan going to Corregidor. However, I would like to have a contact there in advance. Do you have any contact details of the boats? I've been trying to contact the numbers from the previous posts but its all busy. Thank you!

Hello Liz
It would have been helpful if you would have told what numbers you had trouble with or what post and what entry/reply.
I tried these 2 numbers of PSE (Prime Square Enterprise) located at the MAA Piers.
0999 383 8164 was busy also.
0995 161 3869 this number Miss Mildred answered and said both numbers are ok.
If you are interested in the Villa Carmen Boat, use this number but try texting first and ask whether you can call it. I used this number and their boat several times last month. 0927 790 4684
